How the hell could I have been so dumb? As an outspoken man with a well sharpened tongue, I sorta thought I’d start to change with age but I’ve just stayed the same. Call me crazy, but today I’m embracing facts: A past full of mistakes that I can’t take back. It’s a crying shame that I’d drag it out just to pass the blame. How the hell could I have been so weak? A plush backseat flips my switch on to speak and says “Your common sense will never pay the rent”. Harsh words from a path that I seldom choose. I’ll scream at the wall as you sing the blues to minor chards that you and I simply can’t afford.

When I get out of the bath I’m gonna kick back and read this, possible my favourite possession.
Paper Boats Or Some Poems I Wrote by Daniel Jason Campbell (Soupy, The Wonder Years)
Signed, 30/100 European Tour Edition

Soupy gave me this for free at my first Wonder Years show on 11th July ‘09 for creating what he said was his favourite flyer of the tour (and All Or Nothing gave me a signed copy of their split “Distances”). They played a tiny venue near my home, still one of my favourite bands. I had him sign it nearly a year later in May 2010, Lepub Newport. I’ve put the flyer in my portfolio ready for interview with UWIC tomorrow out of sheer pride.

Today I wish happy birthday to one of the most legit guys I’ve ever met, Soupy is the one.

Your lack of confidence is not a right to verbally abuse. I should’ve said this to your face, but what’s the use?
It’s the awful ones like you that keep the better people sane, so we could all be better off if you’re the same.

So I call it realization at my discretion. You should’ve known by now, what this resentments all about. I’ve posted every kind of clue around this town and everyone understands it but you”

Into It. Over It. and KOJI came together this past summer to make a full length 10 song 12” split for No Sleep Records. Colormake and The Work collaborated in documenting this creative moment in the artists’ lives.

006 / This particular design is quite nostalgic for me. A favourite band of mine toured the UK in support of their latest split release with the british band (All Or Nothing) in July of 2009, and luckily for me they played my local venue and a friend booked them for a show. Although this flyer is a little dated now, and I feel I have improved within practise a great deal since 2009, it’s something I’d love to share with you. You won’t believe how proud I am to say that I designed a flyer to help promote a show for The Wonder Years.Designing flyers for small local shows was where I started to gain a large interest in Graphic Design, and this image I created always makes me remember some of the great times I shared with friends at The Windsor Club, Neath.
This post is for Bowden, Matt and Fash for organising and promoting shows, It’s for all of the local bands that used to play for us every weekend, for shows that used to cost us £3, for Peggy and Daffy at The Windsor Club and every person that I made friends with through this community. Thankyou for helping me find a passion in design.
